Evaluating the requirement for passive fire protection in large structures

Our approach combines the modelling of moving fires, structural finite element analysis and fluid dynamics

Complex fire and structural modelling
Large open space structures

The methodology we have developed for structural fire engineering in large open spaces allows real time quantification of fire development and structural response so that the safety of occupants during the evacuation periods and the safety of fire fighters, who may wish to enter the building, can be assessed.

To achieve this we run multiple structural fire scenarios, our own version of the travelling fire methodology, finite element models and computational fluid dynamics (“Fire Dynamics Simulator”).

So far we have achieved 100% approval success for removal of passive fire protection from columns, beams and other structural elements.
